Actually, I don't think Amy was being "sarcastic". IMO she sincerely

suggesting to the poster that said poster might need therapy. Oddly,
however, Amy didn't realize such a suggestion might be offensive to

poster - or to others here apparently! hahahaha! <<

Thanks, JonesieCat -- I wasn't in fact being sarcastic. I don't even
know
what in those few sentences could be interpreted as sarcastic.

And, I wasn't specifically suggesting therapy (although I'm kind of
surprised
to hear someone say in 2008 that they think someone would be offended
by
the
suggestion "find a therapist, you need to talk to someone"). How about
talking to a _friend_? I think that if someone is having such a strong
reaction to this case, it might be better to grab a friend and head off
to a
diner or out for coffee, and have a long talk with someone who knows
you,
rather than just expressing anonymously here. I know a lot of people
think
that _here_ is just fine, but while it may be for some people, it
obviously
isn't for others. Some of you seem to know each other for a long time,
and
to have a genuine level of friendship that extends beyond the bounds of
talking about crimes, but robbielynn, from my lurking and posting for
nearly
a year, doesn't seem to be one of those people. I don't get the
impression
that anyone here is truly her good pal, you know? Not for any reason
other
than she might not post a lot, doesn't post a lot of personal stuff,
etc.
I
simply thought she might be better served by a 'real life,'
geographically-proximate friend.

Anyway, I'm really puzzled that anybody would think a suggestion to go
and
talk with a friend could be sarcastic. And robbielynn, if you're still
reading, I was absolutely sincere in my suggestion. And I hope you're
doing
okay processing this story, which doesn't seem to be getting any less
horrifying.
