Vietnam era military training involved levels
of harrassment and destruction of individual
character that was so bad that almost nobody
got over it, even after many many years. It
was rationalized as justifiable because trainers
wanted to know if a soldier in training could
withstand the stress of being in a combat
zone. After the draft went away, and the Army
consisted of "volunteer" soldiers .. who could
quit if they chose to ... , the Army learned real
quick that nobody was going to put up with that
kind of horseshit any more. If necessary, it
could be proven late one Saturday night in a
bar, if that "trainer" dared to show his face
off Post. I realize the ladies are not in a position
to KICK ASS when needed, but there are Big
Brothers who will. Every lady in the US Army
should be assigned a 250 pound man with a
big wooden cross, tattoos, and a Southern
Gentleman's upbringing. who will keep his
distance until she calls him to duty. And then
the SHIT should hit the fan !
