The more I look at these pictures, that has to be her. In a
drawing, the features look monstrous but I'm sure she was bloated
from water. The chin, teeth, eyes, even the hair color... that poor
baby.

The irony is that I was one of the people who thought the original
drawings were very poorly done. They didn't even look the right
age. However, now that I look at the actual photograph of this
little girl, there is a remarkable resemblance. The exception is
the depiction of the hair. No child of that age would have such a
mass of thick hair (at least, none that I have observed).

MaryL

I think the hair is drawn bad, but the thick hair didn't suprise me
because my daughter had that exact same type. Very thick and
wavy, almost the same color as the drawing. Its still that way at 11.

But did she have long, thick hair like that at the age of 2 or 3? I
think that was the estimated age of "Baby Grace." It would not
surprise me in an older child.

MaryL

Yeah she did. We just went through pictures for a reunion, and we all
talked about where she got all that hair.

I think that is rare, though, don't you think? I'm not saying that I
don't believe you, because I do, as there are aways deviations from the
norm. But usually and normally at that age the hair is whispy even if
it is thick and long. That picture made it look like a wig. Anyway,
there really are remarkable similarities to the little Riley Sawyers.

I think its drawn really bad, if that makes sense. I mean, had I had a
drawing of my d, it wouldn't look like that...the hair looks too big
around the crown and makes her head look disporportionate. Plus...they
said skull fracture, blunt force. I hate to be the one to point it out,
but she could have been crushed a bit and w/ bloating from the water it
could've made it harder to really capture the true shape of her head.

Then of course, we have to take into consideration I'm one of the moms
that don't let the three year old with long hair run around with it not
brushed and fixed lol. That kid had bows in her hair from the minute she
was born...our pictures from that time all have her hair "fixed" pulled
up on the sides in barettes or a half pony with bangs. As I'm typing
this,my husband is reminding me that she was hospitalized overnight for
anemia(too much milk)when she was 2, and was on a host of vitamins and
vitamin drinks...that could've attributed to her long hair, too.

OMG, my daughter too had anemia when she was 2 because of too much milk
"they" said. Damn. The drs at that time thought it "might" be a
hereditary thing to have that tendency because I too had probs with anemia
in my youth.

I think it was because I did tend to give her too much milk and not enough
of the baby foods. I was pretty ignorant back in those days and thought I
was doing the best. I still feel guilty about that.

Same here. I have a glass of milk with my dinner,so when she started eating
regular foods and finger foods I put a cup of milk out for her meals. She'd
drink all the milk and not eat.
