Please don't pay money for stuff like AV software. Use AVG Free.
It's the best available, it's free (user donations), and it's
constantly maintained with new virus updates. Head over to
alt.2600 or alt.hackers.malicious and ask them. Those folks spit
on commercial utility programs.

Too bad about having Vista; it's gonna cause you a lot of
heartburn. You might want to contact your computer vendor and
request that they replace Vista with XP Home Professional. You'll
be a much happier camper.

I went to Walmart earlier today, there is only about four choices,
Norton, McAfee and two others that didn't have Vista listed as an
OS compatible, so I didn't buy anything. I thought I'd do a bit
more research before I spent $50+/-. I would think Norton or
McAfee would have a fix eventually (like sooooon!!). I have used
Norton at home for years and McAfee at work and liked them both.
I'll check out the AVG, as that is the one that is highly
recommended by the computer nerds on the Vista mail ng and those
folks on ahm.

LOL - you sound like my sister. She thinks if it's free, it can't
possibly be as good as the "Name" brand that came on her computer.

I've used AVG for years, and I have *never* had a virus or a conflict
with other software.

I'm going to download AVG tonight. Dog3 also suggested it. And you are right, I was a little leary because of the "free" part of it. I've always heard that nothing is ever free (unless you shoplift it).
