Reward for missing woman more than doubles
Tribune staff report
Published June 1, 2007, 5:21 AM CDT
The family of a missing Plainfield woman is raising the reward for
information leading to her whereabouts to $50,000 from $20,000,
WGN-Ch. 9 reported this morning.
Lisa Stebic has been missing since May 1. Nine days later the family
announced the initial reward.
Stebic's husband, Craig, reported that he last saw her in their home
the evening before she was reported missing. The couple is in the
middle of a bitter divorce but were living together in the family
home.
Although her cell phone and credit cards disappeared with her, they
have not been used since.
Since Stebic vanished, hundreds of volunteers have helped search teams
from Plainfield and neighboring communities look for her or any clues
to her disappearance.
To provide an outlet for monetary donations, Stebic's family is
setting up a bank account and trust fund in her name. Donations will
be added to the reward money or saved for the couple's two children,
Lexi, 12, and Zach, 10.
Specific details of how donations can be made to the fund will be
announced Friday.
