Ya beat me to it, tiny! <g>
I saw it on my local TV station's home page last night, anne. Sorry, I
didn't want to 'horn in' on your story, but I was so glad to see the guilty
verdict. This one always stuck with me over the years because at the time
it happened one of our daughters was working as a waitress. This could so
easily have been one of my daughters. I would never let my daughters work a
closing shift because of fears like this. I told them, if you can't find a
job where you don't have to work closing, then it's not worth it to me to
have you work and have me have to worry about you being robbed. This was
such a tragedy for all those families involved. I can't begin to imagine
how those family members felt, standing outside that restaurant, with all
those bodies inside.
Absolutely no problem. Palatine resonated with me because of a
similar robbery & mass murder in Bloomington IL, at S&S Liquors. It
took years, but they finally convicted the perps for that one.
