From Wikipedia:

'In middle school and high school,Chowas teased and picked on for
his shyness and unusual speech patterns. In English class at Westfield
High School,Cholooked down and refused to speak when it was his turn
to speak aloud, said Chris Davids, a high school classmate ofCho's.
Because of the teasing,Chooften would refuse to speak when picked by
the teacher in class. After one teacher threatened him with an F for
participation,Chobegan reading in a strange, deep voice that sounded
"like he had something in his mouth," Davids said. "The whole class
started laughing and pointing and saying, `Go back to China,'" Davids
said. Another classmate, Stephanie Roberts, states that "There were
just some people who were really mean to him and they would push him
down and laugh at him," and "He didn't speak English really well and
they would really make fun of him."[33]'

It just figures.

1. The bullies, their families, their ennablers and the school should
be liable. Their abuse of this autistic young man obviously
contributed to his suicide-homicide. In a just society, the victims
at Va Tech should be allowed to sue the people who droveChocrazy and
compelled him to take 32 lives as well as his own.

2. The Hammer of Thor needs to come down on American school systems.
They need to throw the bullies out. Kick them out of school. If
somebody can get kicked out of school for wearing an inappropriate
T-shirt or saying something politically incorrect, then somebody can
be kicked out of school for abusing other people.

CNN.com is showing an interview (in their video section) with some
ofCho's
relatives in Korea. His great-aunt says the family knewChowas "suffering
from some form of mental illness" even before he left Korea at age 8.
She
says that he was cold and would not talk (which is similar to the
description given by Virginia Tech classmates). She says he would not
answer her and would not talk to his mother. She saysCho'smother would
say she "didn't know what to do" when they asked aboutChoand that the
family was "driven to despair."

I don't know how a great aunt would know that Cho was in fact mentally
ill, rather than simply afflicted by childhood alienation. Cold and
un-talkative would eliminate a large number of anti-social teens who
are otherwise not homicidal.

That's true -- the great-aunt was not a psychiatrist and supposedly has no
specific knowldedge. However, her description of his childhood behavior
(before the age of eight) is almost identical to the descriptions given by
his college roommates and others. So, my point was that it may be too
simplistic to relate his actions to "teasing" and other forms of abuse in
high school -- which came many years later.
