Morning Mix: Alec Baldwin Lashes Out at 11-Year-Old Daughter
"You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being. I don't

give

a

damn that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a

child,

or

that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care

about

what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for the

last

time with this phone." -- Alec Baldwin on his 11-year-old daughter's
voicemail | Audio (Warning: Not safe for work)

This was so sad to hear. And very disturbing. I used to think he was

the

less-bat***-crazy one in that marriage - now I'm not sure!

It is hard to listen to, but I caution that this exchange did not
happen in a vacuum. While it is easy to listen to it, and make broad
assumptions, I realize that it is just a blip in the totality of the
entire mess. It was released for a reason.

I certainly would agree with you monks, *if* this message was left for
Basinger. But this message was left on his eleven year old daughters

phone.

And the message/words were directed to an eleven year old child, not his
wife. Regardless of what your spouse does or says, one never takes it

out

like this on a child. The custody battle is between Basinger and

Baldwin,

not the child IMO.

In a perfect world, yes. In a world where we think before an outburst.
In a world where we can override gut reactions, and every time do the
right thing. In a..... Well, you get the idea. If you had access to 312
perfectly normal, or complimentary, voice mails to his daughter, would
that counter this one that is being highlighted?

WM

I'm guessing you actually listened to the message?

Yes. And, I'm wondering when the regular voice mails will come down the pike. I'm not holding my breath. :)
