Saw him this morning on MSNBC. Don't know what makes you say you don't
believe this story? Dogs have been rescuing people for centuries. And
Hero
certainly looks capable.
I had some doubts myself when I first heard this story. I just don't see
this dog
pulling a full-grown woman 50 yards through briars to the road. I'm not
saying
it didn't happen, but she may have at least greatly exaggerated it for
publicity,
which she has apparently gotten. To show how gullible and stupid the
media is, a few years ago, a local TV station carried a story, based only
the claims of the dog owner, that a large bird swooped down and picked up
his small dog (forgot the breed, but far too big for any species of bird
around
here anyway to fly off with) and dropped it a few blocks away in a parking
lot. The dopey news readers were evidently treating as true, but the
weather
guy on the news program was incredulous, as I was.
I don't know what kind of breed it might have been, but one day as my
husband was watching the squirrels feed at our feeder out back, he saw a big
bird swoop down and grab one up and fly off. I can't remember anymore if dh
said it was a hawk, but I'm assuming so. He said 'it happened so fast, he
actually didn't understand what he'd seen until it was all over.
As for the dog in this story, pulling a full grown woman, that part I can
believe. Dogs have pretty much strength when it comes to pulling things.
In my experience anyway. And this was a big German Shepherd dog.
