Scum gets out of prison after serving only 13 years of a 35 year sentence.

I'm guessing that in his 13 years in prison, he received no sexual
offender treatment. Perhaps if he'd received treatment for his sick
impulses, he wouldn't have re-offended.

Though, in fairness, keeping him locked up would have been a good idea,
too. Well, hindsight...

Maybe if we weren't locking up drug dealers we'd have room to for
violent criminals like this guy to serve their entire sentences.

Yeah, who ever heard of a violent drug dealer? And just addicting somebody to
a substance that they can't resist and will destroy them, that's what you call a
"victimless crime," right?

1. Drug dealers who are violent don't last long: they get locked up for
a violent crime (and thus aren't in prison as drug dealers), or more
likely they piss off somebody and get either dead or scared out of the
business. Many are tough, make no mistake, but violence isn't good for
business, and distributors don't like dealing with fools. Visit San
Francisco and I'll take you out to Golden Gate Park or the Haight and
you can meet a couple of dozen drug dealers to serve as examples.

2. Locking up drug dealers doesn't stop people from becoming addicts.
Obviously. You want to do something about that, keeping dealers in
prison isn'[t the answer. Look around, it hasn't worked, never will.

3. And the whole addict myth is hilarious. I've met hundreds, probably
thousands of serious drug users - cocaine, heroin, pills. The vast
majority have used for years, hold down jobs, and while the addiction
certainly holds them back in life in many ways, except for crack few
are crippled by addiction. All those PSAs the government runs are just
not realistic.

4. And then there are the people in jail or prison for dealing
marijuana. Yeah, there's a real dangerous bunch....if you're worried
about encouraging obesity.
