If you have never read his books, they are good, fairly light reads.

I bought "Mindhunter" but stopped reading it after the first 30 or so pages
of self-aggrandisement. I wanted to read about specific cases, not John
Douglas' braggadocio.

He said he would only investigate the Ramsey case if he had full control
over the report? Well, yes...I wouldn't expect him to say (or rather,
*admit* to having said), "I'll work for you, and if it turns out that I
think you're the murderer, we just won't say anything about my investigation
or my conclusions." Same thing with polygraphers hired by anyone "under an
umbrella of suspicion."
