Winkler's Attorneys say She's Opening Up More
WREG
MEMPHIS - Accused killer and Preacher's wife Mary Winkler is getting
adjusted to life in jail, says her attorney Steve Farese Friday.
Farese who visited his client in the McNairy County Jail Thursday night
says she's disclosing more about what happened the day her minister
husband was murdered. "We're finding out more and more and more about
the past events that led to the culmination of this tragedy," says
Farese.
Farese also dropped a hint on what the preacher's wife told him. "The
public's consciousness is important in this case especially on how
women are treated in this country and in some sections of this
country."
When News Channel 3 asked him to clarify his remarks, Farese later said
he was referring to the culture of "men being physically bigger than
women."
But he wouldn't explain any further. "We have a plan, we're going to
stick to that plan and hope it's successful," says Farese.
A plan that's keeping the nation glued to every new development in this
case.
off some big names who are trying hard to score an interview with theFrom magazine covers to movie offers, Winkler's attorneys are fending
preacher's wife.
"Oprah's called, Dr. Phil has called of course Larry King. And Diane
Sawyer and all of these groups have called. But we have to make sure
what's in the best interest of the client," says Farese.
