Hmmm, interesting. Makes me wonder if she got more than she bargained
for and realized that these terrorists are just that: kidnapping,
torturing, murdering bandits. Not just some some poor, innocent
schmucks who got a raw deal from George Bush and are a little pissed
off. Maybe Miss Carroll didn't count on that until SHE became the
victim.

Apparently people can't keep their activists and their journalists
straight. That's great news for the Bush administration, which seems
to want everything they don't author, approve and disseminate to be
dismissed out of hand.

Craig Crawford has an excellent book out right now, and he goes against
*both* sides (who deserve it):
Attack the Messenger : How Politicians Turn You Against the Media (American
Political Challenges)

The only problem is that the victims of this political campaign
aren't readers....while they're being used as cannon fodder, their
wages are being suppressed by the pro-business side of the
immigration argument, and they don't understand political nuance.

Illiterates, I tell you. They're counting on a sub-class who can't
read, watch only Fox, and listen only to a drug-addled radio
screamer. Hell, "our" VP only listens to Fox, so he's
constantly stroked and flattered. It used to be that the
Republicans courted the wealthy and educated; now they
court the uneducated and unsophisticated. Unfortunately,
there's lots of them.

Sorry...I get carried away ;)
