And where is all this dry wood coming from, in the middle of winter?

I wonder if the search aircraft are equipped with anything to detect a cell
phone. Probably not, but that would be a good idea. That way even if they
aren't in range of a cell tower, the search plane could fly over and home in
on them via triangulation by signal strength.
