Correct me if I'm wrong, but I get the impression you think Avery would have
done this even if he hadn't spent half his life in prison for a crime he
didn't commit.

And while that is possible, we don't really know that. It is entirely
possible that if he hadn't spent all those years in prison he wouldn't have
become a murderer. In which case the indirect cause of that photographer's
death was the wrongful conviction.

Every guy that is violent towards women doesn't turn in to a murderer, you
know. In fact, the vast majority (fortunately) never do.
