I've been Mac since Lisa, and especially with what I do (graphic

viruses). My wee, loaded to capacity with apps 1.42 GHz Mac is
w-a-a-a-a-y faster than my nearly bare-bones 2.8 GHz Alien Windoh's.

Too, I once spent 36 hours *straight* debugging my Windohs machine.
Symantec failed and I D/Led *12* viruses and Trojans within 15 minutes,
just googling.

To be honest, I've *never* had a problem diagnosing Mac issues (when
they oh-so infrequently crop up) - I use Terminal and Console like my
second home. I'm as close (in MHO) as a Mac hacker as possible. Mac
lingo is my first language (<---- total MacGeek)! LOL The only prob
I've ever had is networking my Mac and Win together (I hate networking
*** with a passion, but it's necessary for my work).

My biggest problem I've had with Macs in the last nearly 20 yrs? I once
knocked loose my internal power supply while upgrading my HD. Other
than that, it's been replacing PMU batteries.

Hi, MacGirl. I've been a Mac user since 1983 (and had a Morrow CPM
machine before that). We run a seven-Mac graphics and typpesetting
network and have been very satisfied with the product line until the
recent OS X version upgrade that will not boot in Sytem 9, but only runs
an "emulation" thereof.

The older machines all run System 9, as we simply cannot afford to
upgrade more than one machine per year.

The emulation is buggy as hell with System 9 software. It totally sucks.

Still, we are slowly upgrading -- we have three System X machines (two
of which can boot in System 9) and will soon be getting a fourth that
can boot in System 9.

Once we get the entire set of 7 machines into older versions of System
X, we can upgrade all the software to System X, and then move forward.
Until the "emulation" thing happneded, i would have said that Macs were
dream machines -- but now i am pretty angry -- basically, my newest Mac,
which will not boot in System 9, is incapable of interacting with the
network except as a passive storage device -- which sucks. And yes, i
have expressed myself to Apple on this issue, and no, i got no response.
