I hope you don't mind the snip. That was an amazing story. I felt the
same way. He could mess with me all he wanted to, but when he started
seriously talking about hurting other people, including kids, I had to
go. When I woke up once in the middle of the night and knew I could go
down to the knife block, take out a huge blade, plunge it into his
chest and not feel a thing, well, I knew it was time to go.

His torture of me was far more mental than physical. He had another
girlfriend and he treated her just the opposite -- sent her to the
hospital three times.

Yeah, I haven't heard from my ex since he couldn't get anything more
out of me, but my husband always says if he ever sees him on the
street, it's going to be like that moment in Pulp Fiction where Bruce
Willis is driving and sees Ving Rhames crossing the road.

The chemistry thing is weird. I've never been in an abusive
relationship before that one, nor since. I guess my ex's life is pretty
normal now because I haven't read about him in the paper, but I would
never be surprised to hear that he had become a serial rapist or
killer.
