Yes, it was wrong to execute him. Even though he could never live in
society, even though he himself wanted to be executed, even though
while incarcerated he was a danger to other inmates and staff (he was
executed for killing a prison employee that supervised a workshop).
It's wrong to take a human life, except in immediate self-defense.
Limited exceptions in wartime apply. Panzram was a human being, much
as we would like to pretend someone so despicable can't possibly be one
of us.
