Crystal River Police
Arrests
* Kevin Lee Demeter, 18, 11240 N. Wood Drive, Inglis, at 3:22 p.m.
Friday on charges of armed burglary, dealing in stolen property and
grand theft.
A woman said her boyfriend, Demeter, had stolen jewelry from her
brother-in-law, According to an arrest report. A deputy found the items
at his house; however, Demeter said he didn't take the items, and
blamed his roommate.
Bond was set at $40,000.
* John David Stephens, 20, 453 Crystal St., Crystal River, at 7:40 p.m.
Friday on charges of armed burglary, grand theft and dealing in stolen
property.
Officers questioned him at the police station in reference to a
burglary on Aug. 18. He told police that Kevin Lee Demeter, 18, and he
worked together to take movies, a handgun, and jewelry from Demeter's
girlfriend's, brother and sister's house, according to the report. He
said they planned to sell the items for money, according to the report.
Bond was set at $32,000.
* Bryant Douglas Mauk, Jr., 40, 3398 Summit Turf Lane, Snellville, Ga.,
at 12:56 a.m. Saturday on a battery charge.
Bond was set at $250.
Citrus County Sheriff
Domestic battery arrests
* Ernest Bernard Scrivens, 28, Crystal River, at 5:40 p.m. Friday on a
domestic battery charge.
A woman said her boyfriend, Scrivens, had hit her in the face and threw
a glass at her, according to an arrest report. He said she shattered a
glass on his arm, but she said he had done it to himself, according to
the report. The deputy noted that his cuts appeared self-inflicted.
Scrivens is being held without bond.
* Clarence Roy Tate, Sr., 34, Homosassa, at 6:21 p.m. Friday on a
domestic battery charge.
According to a report, Tate said he was trying to get his niece and
another person to stop playing in a mud puddle. When he was pulling one
of them out his hand slipped from their shoulder and hit the person on
the side of the face, according to an arrest report. A deputy noted
that the injuries were worse than what would have been caused by a slip
of the hand, according to the report.
Tate is being held without bond.
* Gregory Allan Schell, 21, Homosassa, at 1:52 a.m. Saturday on a
domestic battery charge. Two witnesses say they saw Schell and a woman
arguing in a business parking lot, according to an arrest report. Both
said he held her down in the grass while she screamed. They called 911,
and when a deputy arrived and found the woman, she said he never
touched her, according to the report.
The deputy saw scratch marks on her and grass and dirt on her back,
according to the report.
Schell is being held without bond.
* Michael Christopher Young, 36, Hernando, at 4:22 a.m. Saturday on a
domestic battery charge.
A woman said they were arguing about rent when she accused him of
molesting her son, according to an arrest report. She said he then
slapped her in the face, knocking her glasses off, according to the
report.
Young is being held without bond.
DUI arrest
* William Ernest Hines, 43, 130 Sandi St., Inglis, at 9:01 p.m.
Wednesday on charges of driving under the influence and possession of
drug paraphernalia and less than 20 grams of marijuana.
Bond was set at $1,500.
* David W. Briggs, 55, 4018 S. Ohio Ave., Homosassa, at 8:07 p.m.
Friday, on a charge of driving under the influence.
Bond was set at $5,000.
Other arrests
* Michael R. Axtell, 19, 1006 Leroy Bellamy Road, Inverness, at 5:09
p.m. Wednesday on a charge of driving with a suspended/revoked license.
Bond was set at $500.
* Richard C. Harris, 19, 12140 S. Brierwood Point, Floral City, at 5:30
p.m. Wednesday on charges of trespassing on a construction site and
criminal mischief.
According to an arrest report, Harris had spray painted the inside of a
house under construction.
Bond was set at $5,000.
* Kenneth Alan Dallas, 42, 3450 S. Suncoast Blvd., Lot 5, Homosassa, at
6:39 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of making/issuing/uttering a worthless
check.
Bond was set at $150.
* Timothy Allen Burke, 39, 14501 W. Captain Court, Crystal River, at
1:42 a.m. Thursday on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a
police officer, resisting/obstructing an officer without violence,
reckless driving and driving with a suspended/revoked license.
A deputy attempted to pull Burke over for speeding on S. Suncoast
Boulevard and Burke sped away, according to an arrest report.
Burke was followed to Grover Cleveland Boulevard where he got out of
his car and ran away. Another deputy arrived with the K9 dog Kane, who
helped find and restrain Burke, according to the report. EMS responded
to treat Burke's dog bite.
Bond was set at $6,750.
* Deborah Davis Sullivan, 34, 10 N. West Ave., Inverness, at 3:12 p.m.
Thursday on charges of grand theft and falsifying ownership on a pawn
ticket.
Sullivan said she sold some her family members guns and other items for
money to feed her children.
Bond was set at $6,000.
* Edward A. Eichhorn, 22, 10 N. West Ave., Inverness, at 3:12 p.m.
Thursday charges of grand theft and falsify ownership on a pawn ticket.
Eichhorn told a deputy he though the items he sold belonged to his
girlfriend and was not aware they had been reported stolen.
Bond was set at $10,000.
* Travis B. Novak, 18, 8583 N. Barberry Way Crystal River, at 3:39 p.m.
Thursday on a charge of trespassing on school property after being
directed to leave.
Bond was set at $250.
* Madeleine Frances Farr, 50, 8110 E. Bayberry Lane, Floral City, at
7:07 p.m. Thursday on a battery charge.
Bond was set at $500.
* Jeremy Cook, 19, 8270 S. Great Oaks Drive, Floral City, at 8:44 p.m.
Thursday, on a charge of possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana.
Cook was released on his own recognizance.
* Frederick Arthur Mills, 29, 19660 S.E. 119 Terrace, Dunnellon, at
2:11 a.m. Friday on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mills was released on his own recognizance.
* Walter Ray Nichols, 25, 2695 N. Vasser Terrace, Hernando, at 5:15
a.m. Friday on a charge of driving with a suspended/revoked license.
Bond was set at $5,000.

* A burglary was reported at 3:52 p.m. Thursday, between 1 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 20, and 3 p.m. Thursday, at a residence at the 14400
block of West Ebb Tide Court, Crystal River.
* A burglary was reported at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, between 4:20 and 5:39
p.m. Thursday, at the 6800 block of North Castlebury Road, Hernando.
* A burglary was reported at 6:59 a.m. Friday, between 9 p.m. Thursday
and 6:59 a.m. Friday, at the 1100 block of East Harvard Street,
Inverness.
* A burglary to a conveyance was reported at 7:31 a.m. Friday, between
9 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday, at the 9300 block of East
Crescent Drive, Inverness.
* A motor vehicle burglary was reported at 10:55 a.m. Monday, between 8
p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, and 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at South Regina
Boulevard, Beverly Hills.
* A burglary was reported at 6:12 p.m. Tuesday, between 5 p.m. Friday,
Aug. 19, and 8:30 a.m. Saturday, at a residence at the 6200 block of
South Gross Avenue, Homosassa.
* A burglary and theft were reported at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, between
11:30 and 11:45 p.m. Monday, at a business parking lot at the 3700
block of West Homosassa Trail, Lecanto.
* A burglary was reported at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, between 9 p.m.
Tuesday and 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, at a residence at the 900 block of
West Colbert Court, Beverly Hills.
Thefts
* A motor vehicle theft was reported at 11:11 p.m. Wednesday, between 2
and 4 a.m. Wednesday, at the 8200 block of West Hoosier Court,
Homosassa.
* An auto theft was reported at 11:48 a.m. Thursday, between Friday,
July 15, and Sunday, July 17, at a business parking lot at the 2300
block of North Florida Highway, Hernando.
* A representative of Buddy's Home Furnishings, U.S. 41 North,
Inverness, reported at 2:30 p.m. Thursday a theft, between Saturday,
May 28, and Thursday, at a residence at the 1500 block of U.S. 41
North, Inverness.
* An employee at Kwik King, North Essex Avenue, Hernando, reported at
4:39 p.m. Thursday a gas drive-off theft Thursday at the convenience
store.
* A theft was reported at 4:47 p.m. Thursday, between 8:30 a.m. and
noon Thursday, at the 6200 block of West Pinedale Circle, Crystal
River.
* An alleged theft was reported at 6:02 p.m. Thursday, between 12 a.m.
Wednesday, July 20, and 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 21, at a residence at
the 3100 block of North Running Oak Terrace, Beverly Hills.
* An employee at CVS Pharmacy, North Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills,
reported at 9:48 p.m. Thursday a theft between 5 and 7 p.m. Thursday,
at the drugstore.
* An employee at Publix, South Suncoast Boulevard, Homosassa, reported
at 6:36 p.m. Wednesday a retail theft at the supermarket. The theft
occurred at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
* An employee at Right Way, West Gulf-to-Lake Highway, Crystal River,
reported at 5:31 p.m. Tuesday a gas drive-off theft at the convenience
store. The theft occurred at 5:25 p.m. Tuesday.
* A representative of Citrus County Parks and Recreation, West Fort
Island Trail, Crystal River, reported at 10:13 a.m. Wednesday a theft,
between 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, at a park at the
same address.
* An employee at Comfort Inn, North Suncoast Boulevard, Crystal River,
reported at 11:43 a.m. Wednesday a theft at the business. The theft
occurred at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
* An employee at Bealls, East Gulf-to-Lake Highway, Inverness, reported
at 5:18 p.m. Wednesday a theft at the store. The theft occurred at 5:10
p.m. Wednesday.
* An employee at Napa Auto Parts, State Road 44 West, Inverness,
reported at 5:22 p.m. Wednesday an attempted theft Wednesday at the
business.
* A representative of the Citrus County Chronicle, North Meadowcrest
Boulevard, Crystal River, reported at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday a theft,
between 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3 a.m. Wednesday, at East Adams Street,
Hernando.
Vandalism
* A case of vandalism to a boat dock was reported at 9:49 a.m. Monday,
between 2 and 5 p.m. Sunday, at Southwest First Place, Crystal River.
* A case of vandalism was reported at 9:17 a.m. Wednesday, between 9:30
p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the 4500 block of South Old
Floral City Road, Inverness.
* A representative of the Citrus County School Board, West Main Street,
Inverness, reported at 9:44 a.m. Wednesday a case of vandalism, between
10:15 a.m. Tuesday and 9:25 a.m. Wednesday, at a school at the 200
block of South Montgomery Avenue, Inverness.
* A case of vandalism was reported at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday, between noon
Tuesday and 3 p.m. Wednesday, at the 4800 block of North Elm Drive,
Crystal River.
* A case of trespassing and vandalism to a construction site were
reported at 4:28 p.m. Wednesday at the 12100 block of South Brierwood
Point, Floral City. The trespassing and vandalism occurred at 3 p.m.
Wednesday.
