I noticed the other day on another group someone railing against
"it takes a village to raise a child." This was pretty much at
the level of political discourse where "Hitlery," "Clintoon,"
and "lieberal" are supposed to be considered telling points.
In any event, there seems to be something of a movement to
oppose "it takes a village to raise a child" with "it takes a
*family* to raise a child."
The advocates haven't quite thought this through, I think. It
pretty-well guts the idea that every issue of public policy
should be resolved by what example it sets for the children.
