There's one thing that's quite likely to have the case dismissed when
it gets to court on the third of August. The officers read the
Miranda rights to the girl twice, but they did it in English:
"The police report said an officer read Maribel her Miranda rights
twice, in English."

Neither the child nor her mother were proficient in English. Add to
that the fact that the Vang family has disappeared, meaning that the
girl's right to cross examine her accuser cannot be exercised and I'm
not thinking the case can go anywhere.
