The line of speculation I am interested in hearing is what Camilla's
children will be called if she becomes a Princess Consort. Logically a
son of a Princess Consort should be analogous to the son of a Royal
Prince, which would give Tom Parker-Bowles the rank and precedence of
a Duke's son. But I'm not sure that's politically possible.

It doesn't matter whether it's politically possible, because it's
*not* logical.

Whatever title Camilla may hold, it is not and will not be hers in
her own right but hers in respect of her husband. Her children by
another marriage don't gain any title or precedence or anything else
by virtue of her own titles-by-marriage.

She's a duchess right now (as well as being Princess of Wales), but
Tom is not a duke's son in any way because his mother is a duchess by
marriage, not a duchess in her own right.
