So how exactly do they explain the curative effect of these
substances? Is it the presence of the "ghost" of a molecule?

Basically I think that's it. But I confess that I haven't paid much
attention to the precise theory, any more than I do to the
explanations of witch doctors. (Any positive effect from either is
actually just the placebo effect, well known in medical science.)

This is mystifying but I will not so easily dismiss this modality
in the light of its long useage and the numerous reports of effectual
treatments, nor its long historical useage, nor the predeliction of
some royals for it.

That's just silly. Royals are no better able to judge the efficacy of
medical treatments than you or I.

That a theory cannot be found to explain it does not mean that
there is no effect,

That's true. There's no effect, based on experiment. Theories are
irrelevant.

However curious we must keep in mind the fundamental non-intuitive or
counter intuitive nature of modern science. You are, I would think,
aware of the many rather curious paradoxes of Quantum Mechanics or
Relativity theory.

Has anyone even begun to make a Quantum Mechanical analysis of
Homepathic effects?

Homeopathy seems to be in a very similar state to so-called "Cold
Fusion" - there are some observable effects but not exactly
reproducible and there does not yet exist a definitive theory to
explain the effects. Or does there?... read on.

I have located an interesting book (see below) written just over a
hundred years ago which
rather criticizes allpathic medicine for excessive focus on diseased
tissue and their subsequent narrow focus and exclusive reliance that
when the diseased tissue is no longer compromised, a cure has
happened. The scope of Homeopathy seems to be dramatically larger
than this view and Kent refers to the allopathic approach as the "old
school"
I find this rather amusing, (don't you!) because there was a time when
allopaths, with all serousness would resort to blood letting as the
therapy of choice - it even worked now and then!!

Also, with some prescience, Dr. Kent speaks of the newer drugs dervied
from the then new science of the chemistry of Petroleum and makes
reference to the appearance of a cure when in fact the underlying
disease has not been cured and finds ways of reasserting itself later.

Lecutures On Homeopathic Philosophy by Dr. James Kent M.D. may be
downloaded from Google book search (select full view and download a
pdf of the book).

I am certain a book that old has errors but it was the underlying
philosophy of this modality that intrigued me and it provides enough
of an introduction for my taste.

Combined with Dr. Blackie's book, that should provide all the intro I
need for now.

Thanks and,

Happy reading, if you dare!
