The next heir is Karl's younger brother, Paul, who married into
royalty, Duchess Eilika of Oldenburg. They have three children, two
daughters Zsófia and Ildiko (Sofia and I'm not sure what the other
name is in German/English), and a son Károly-Konstantin Mihály
István Maria, who was born in 2004 (his name in German is
Karl-Konstantin Michael Stephan Maria)
Archduke Karl's marriage would be considered morganatic with the
earlier house laws, but Archduke Paul's wouldn't, so he and his son
would be future Heads of Houses had Karl's marriage not been approved.

His father Archduke Otto, as Head of the Imperial House, approved the
marriage as dynastic (despite some strong views to the contrary by
other members of the Habsburg family).

How is Archduke Karl von Habsburg's marriage not morganic to the Baroness
Francesca Thyssen-Bornemisza?
A typical cowboy question. One see the family (Thyssen), but not the
earlier marriage with a Fräulein Hofmann, GHdA, XVI, 112.
Well times have changed, since the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, was looked
down upon for marry a Countess. This particular Francesca is not even
a real Baroness! Then again, I suppose most people made up and assumed
their titles in the first place, and got people to eventually accept
them. So I suppose that call yourself a baroness, will eventually make
you one!
