Re: Recent life peerages announced.....

The Rt Hon Sir Jonathan Hugh Mance, Kt (1993), PC (1999), has been
appointed a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary, and has received a life
peerage. The peerage has been gazetted in the name, style and title of
BARON MANCE, of Frognal in the London Borough of Camden.

Lord Mance was b. 6 June, 1943, son of Sir Henry Stenhouse Mance
(1913-81), by his wife, the former Joan Erica Robertson Baker (llady
Mance's home was at Oakhurst, Billingshurst, West Sussex).

Lord Mance was a Judge of the High Court, Queen's Bench Division,
Commercial List 1993-99, a Lord Justice of Appeal 1999-2005, and is now
a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary.

He married 1973, the Rt Hon Dame Mary Howarth Arden, DBE (1993) PC
(2000), a Lord Justice of Appeal since 2000; b. 23 Jan 1947, daughter
of Lieutenant-Colonel E.C. Arden, LLB, TD, and M.M. Arden (nee Smith).
She was a Judge of the Court of Justice, Chancery Division 1993-2000.
