Crown Prince Sultan of Saudi Arabia

His expected accession to Crown Prince on the accession of Crown Prince
Abdullah to the Throne has indeed occurred...and with it an increase
in the ambiguity of the date of his birth.
I had only seen it said before that Prince Sultan had been born in
either 1927 or 1928,but now I have seen news reports saying 1924,
calling him an "octogenarian" without a date,and saying he was 77.
It has also been mentioned that he is in ill health and had a stomach
tumor removed last year...implying he may not live to succeed King
Abdullah (born 1923 or 1924,where King Fahd was born 1921 or 1923;
after what date are birthdates of Saudi princes reliably confirmed?).
As the Crown Prince is customarily named First Deputy Prime Minister)
(and sometimes functions as if he were the Prime Minister) and retains
no other ministerial office,it is of considerable importance who takes
over from Crown Prince Sultan as 1)Minister of Defense and Aviation
(which he had been since 1962) and 2)Second Deputy Prime Minister
(since Fahd got it in 1968,a position that has always predicted the
following Crown Prince).
Will one of Sultan's sons--even the just-returned-from-Washington Bandar,
though Khalid the general would seem more in line--take over the Ministry?
Will half-brother Mitaib or full-brother Naif (the remaining bin Abdul
Aziz princes in the Cabinet) get to be Second Deputy?
Or will we see a move upward by a son of Faisal or of Fahd,
or a non-Cabinet bin Abdul Aziz like Prince Salman?
