It's because all the weird ones were translated phonetically a couple of
centuries ago from various Aboriginal dialects by Brit's who were drunk &/
or on drugs or something. This has resulted in innumerable local jokes
about imaginary towns like Didyerbringyerdogalong & the like.
From New Zealand, I give you the wonderful town named Waikikamukau,which, when pronounced "correctly" in Maori, comes out very much Why
Kick A Moo Cow.
We didn't even need to translate phonetically to get it.
