Almost, but I didn't get that vibe from the recruiter. *shrugs* On to
the next possibility, I guess. A return to academentia? A short-term
(2-3 month) contract? Maybe a cushy gubmint job in the ACT? Who knows?

My mob is hiring, wanting Solaris or HPUX or AIX or any combination.

They might hire for contract instead of permanent.
