Too many folks do.
Having seen a fair amount of well written assembler, c 'assembler' 'octal
absolute' and I might buy your statement. It is certainly not possible to
write well written assembler in, e.g., C.
This, of course, ignores the question "What is assembler". Even on the
same platform there may be multiple assemblers, some more conducive to
good code than others.
