Yes, bur {w} is not the same set as w.

Someone brought up the surreals by mentioning $\omega - 1$; the post
that did the deed is, I expect, an ancestor of this one.

There's this strange convention in Usenet that when you quote a block of
text and type a response after it, the response refers to the quoted text
and not to unrelated material in the same thread.
