Of course, an electric is optimized for that situation, as one can
use it while driving.

I have no idea if such use would make it more likely for the local
gendarmes to investigate on suspicion of the crime of "holding a
phone to one's ear while driving."

(Amusingly, on a related note, when that law went into effect last
year, someone rented a billboard on the main highway between sf.ca.us
and sj.ca.us emblazoned with "Sen. SoandSo, Your Cell Phone Law Sucks!",
followed by much tiny print that, were I to try to read it, would
surely have led to a collision.)
