You will probably have a lot of +12 V distribution inside the car.
Don't use the stock cigarette lighter for anything more than a cell
phone or GPS charger; go straight to the battery for everything else.
If you're looking at lots more +12V than the vehicle would normally
support, the local 4x4 enthusiasts can likely recommend power upgrades
via bigger or multiple alternators, secondary (tertiary, etc.) battery
setups, and similar. They're used to needing it for winches and such.
It pains me to say this, but your local doof-doof shop(s) also will be
able to supply, recommend, or install gear to support additional power
requirements. My local doof-doof shop ran #8 power lines from battery
through the engine compartment firewall to a spot behind the front
front seats in each vehicle for not much at all -- $25 or so each.
#8 will support lots of Rich, Chunky Amps. Make _DAMN_ sure they fuse
both + and - sides, as there are obscure failure modes in which you DO
want the fuse in the - line to operate to avoid rewiring expensive
stuff and/or putting out an electrickery fire.

I'm personally in favor of finding some way to make Robert A. Heinlein's
corpse "President Forever" and making it mandatory that any public official
memorizes "The Notebooks of Lazarus Long" . --R. Asby Dragon
