Hummm... Amuse me, are there _anywhere_ tunnels or trains *with*
fire-suppression systems? Anywhere? I'm not talking only about railroads
tunnels of course, I seems to remember a fscking big fire in the
Gottardo's Tunnel that resulted in 20 or so death.
According to Pickyweedia, they put a fire station with 2 engines in
the middle of the Mont Blanc tunnel after the 1999 fire.
No word on suppression systems, or even hydrant connections or in-wall
fire hose reels or equivelent.
Come to think of it, I have seen fire cabinets with hoses like you get
in commercial buildings in some tunnel. But which was it....
Certainly in the Windsor-Detroit tunnel, IIRC. That's the only tunnel
I've been in in the past mumblety years, so I don't think I remember
any other tunnel instead.
