So you're both in recovery at the same time? Ugh.
My orkplace went into voluntary administration/receivership just last
week. I may be in the same boat soon.
Rob.
Best of luck. My recovery was semi-planned, just two or three years
earlier than I would have expected, because WeSellDegrees came up with a
Separation Incentive Plan (SIP) which supposedly saves money by getting
rid of the longer term, older, and therefore marginally higher paid
employees, without regard to function or job performance. So they made
me an offer I could not refuse (unless I ignored the possibility that
the next step might be downsizing without such an offer.) This of
course gives the newer employees an opportunity to learn new things and
work longer hours, as there is also a hiring freeze.
It was more sudden for SWMBO, who worked for
WeMaintainSickPeopleAndBillInsurance and had an awshit moment (no damage
nor danger to clients) which her PHBoaB seized upon. She has decided
also to begin collecting from the funds she has been paying into all
this time.
