You've never called a helldesk and pretended to be clicking on the Start
menu and all that, so as to get the IP address or whatever that you need
without triggering the "we only support Windoze, goodbye" escape clause?
I wouldn't know about other places, but both the ISPs I've used in the
past and use today and my current employer are entirely happy for me to
say "We won't support that, but we offer standard adsl2+ with SIP. Here
are the settings. Write them down and if you can't make it work, call the
manufacturer.".
I'm even nice enough, when it's about a problem getting to the internet,
to google the support number for them. Or for that matter to tell them how
to get to those settings pages on our website, which tends to be clear as
mud unless you spend considerable time clicking through it.
