I mentioned my (well-known) attitude about coming in late ('do!') to
a coworker lately. He complimented me on my excellent preparation in
warning the boss about that during my job interview. I realise that
he wasn't _at_ the job interview. I do so out loud.
Overheard my team leader[1] saying with a shrug "Oh I have some who come
in at 7am and some I don't see before noon."
As long as the work gets done and if you show up before 7am or leave
after 7pm you know how to negotiate the different security hurdles then
all is OK.

[1] now ex-team-leader. Alas, for she was good. Got headhunted away to
oversee design and implementation of a system for the state health dept.
"If I can get things done in Communist Roumania I can get things done in
the NSW public service" she said. If anyone can she can, but I think
it will be beyond even her. She did say "I know where to find good
sysadmins" and has already contacted a very good Open Source contracting
bod so who knows what might happen....
