Until a few years ago almost all washers in .uk came with 2 inlets but now
you only get a cold inlet because it it more energy efficient to only heat
the water needed to the required temperature. Just about any domestic
appliance in .eu land now carries a mandatory energy efficiency sticker
and all manufacturers want to get as close as possible to an A rating.

Lusers will, of course, buy a C rated dryer for a higher price than a D rated
model and run it for twice as long to dry the same clothes.
