TV-type LCDs may get a temporary "anomoly" in lines or columns from a
static image causing those particular TFTs to be running a bit warm
and off-spec. Displaying normal video for a bit should clear it up.
IOW, don't leave a PS3 load/save screen on for an hour while you get
distracted with something else.
So, not the same as phosphor burn-in, in particular, it cures itself.
But it can last long enough to think something's wrong, unless you'd
read the bit in the manual about that happening.
