It's not the height that matters, it's the diagonal.
z = (x^2 + y^2)^.5
z = (1.8^2 + .9144^2)^.5 ; assume a yard-wide door
z = (3.24 + .83612736)^.5
z = 4.07612736^.5
z = 2.02m
So with two cm to spare it will work, assuming that Italian doors are as
wide as American ones, and further assuming a thin-enough table...
