Well, this last time, being expected to work for most of three months
but not allowed (or able, for much of that time) to go into the office
was extremely frustrating, made worse by the fact that my (usually
helpful) co-workers sometimes ignored my pleas that they go and do
something physical to a machine on my behalf.
(Having to install an IOS security update on 35 Cat6500s during this
timeframe was not fun either. I don't trust hardware to boot properly
when I'm not around to show it who's boss. It went OK, but I had to
have $NHB make someone come in to baby-sit things -- something I would
gladly have done myself if it had been safe for me to do so at the
time. *That* bugs the hell out of me, almost as much as having to rat
out a user to the MPAA. As it was, we ended up doing the patch about
three weeks later than I would have liked, given the amount of notice
I prefer to give to my users.)
