And now I've been suitably warned I think I'll give it a miss.

I'm sure I tried it at the 2006 Whisky Live[1], and decided that the
8yo was not particularly pleasant, the 12yo was extremely drinkable,
and the 15yo was back to verging on unpleasant (and overpriced).

[1] Didn't bother this year: they upped the ticket price, reduced
the number of sample vouchers per ticket, and screwed around
with the voucher conversion rate as well. Plus it was in London,
and I've stopped doing London except for museums[2] and stuff[3].
[2] Woolwich Arsenal, most recently.
[3] Where I can guarantee getting home without being stranded on
fscking Northampton station overnight in the middle of winter.
