Ah, yes. Different sort of "service" here, but yes, dedicated-role
critters.

While I was in military tech school, I got detailed to work at the
USAF Guard Dog School. That was ... ErmInterestingShallWeSay. I
did KP[1] that night, and found that one of the students had left
the gate to his dog's enclosure open as a _Surprise_! for me. Very
shortly after that I found that I _could_ climb a ten-foot vertical
cinder-block wall, given sufficient incentive.

I don't _know_ that the dog enjoyed it, but he certainly *leaned* into
his job with a considerable excess of enthusiasm.

That was, by far, the closest I've come to unassisted flight.
