That "media tax" seems to be a pre-invitation to people to stuff such
media with whatever they can grab; it's tantamount to an endorsement
of piracy.
It's more a realisation that their business model is becoming less and
less sustainable, and a desperate grab for undeserved monies from people
they've never met.
This is like me trying to charge the entire world $5 extra on every can of
paint anyone buys for any reason at all, just because someone *might* use
it to paint a copy of something my neighbour painted twenty years ago and
that I sold a couple of prints of.
