OhGod. I'm _so_ sorry. It sucks Sucks _SUCKS_ to bury kids.
The closest I've come before is my sister's miscarriage last year, but
she recovered well, and had a beautiful baby girl later. The truly
sucky part is that I never got to meet little Laura; my fiancee and I
were hoping to see her when they flew out for our wedding this August.
Sounds more like SIDS than suffocation-from-blanket, but that's just a SWAG
based on what I've seen of 7-month-olds: they're good about moving stuff
away from them when they're awake, and I'd expect the CO2 alarms would wake
a sleeping kid if the blanket were keeping the good air out and the bad air
in.
Well, that's what the coroner is for, I suppose; we should find out
shortly.
I'm flying out to be there with my brother tomorrow morning.
Please give them each a hug from someone else who's buried a kid: me.
Will do, and thanks for your sympathy.
-=Eric
