Googling left as an exercise for the reader, since my copy is paper, but
the Guardian's G2 thing did a big feature on it where short-straw-draw
Stephen Moss (Who writes the chess column, which is based around Nigel
Short teaching him chess, and is called The King and I) tried it. it
does appear to be an exercise in reality, attempting to knock seven
bells of shit out of a person you later expect to vie tactics against.
