I'll stick with the likes of :
WRITE (6,1001) X
1001 FORMAT (F10.4)
Of course there may be a world out there where stream 6 is _not_
automatically assigned to a 132-column 66 rows-per-page line-
printer loaded with music-ruled fanfold - but if there is such
a place I want *nothing at all* to do with it.
