Mistake number one. You should have said something like, "No, I can't be
in at that time. I will be in at (normal time), as usual. If there is
something that desperately needs care and attention at that time, raise
it with one of the other techs that *will* be present at that time."

So now you're going back on what she perceives as your word. Rule number
one: don't give them any wriggle room to misinterpret what you say. If
you can't promise you'll be somewhere at some time, make damn sure that
you don't say anything that could be even remotely taken as a promise.
Otherwise, they *will* find some way to make it your fault.
