Perzackly, pardner!
I blame the fscking crap QRYY "spacesaver" keybored I have just had
inflicted upon me at Ork. Weighs about a pound and a half, surround
has been shrunk to fit the keys, no idiot lights to warn of capslock
and its chums, minimal LRF support causing it to skate around the
desk surface like Torvill & Dean. (Blu-Tak[TM] may well stop *that*.)
The rest of the Dingly is not _too_ bad, though it doubtless sucks
in ways I have yet to comprehend, and it at least has the grace to
power up and selftest in under two minutes, unlike its predecessor
(which I must remember to take the non-company DIMM out of before
it gets reclaimed) which took long enough to make a cup of tea
_and_ read the newspaper.
The craptop, on the other paw, is a complete waste of space and is
going to be returned until they install the software that it actually
*requires* in order to be useful. How much use is a remote-support
laptop, callout for the use of, when they haven't installed any
comms software FFS?
Gah! It can clutter up their workshop instead of being chained to
my workbench until it's "fit for the purpose" - and that includes
having the CD/DVD drivers that they have omitted from other units
in the same ordure.

The strength of the antispammer movement is that there is no organization.
Nobody can make deals, nobody has the authority to surrender. All people
with pretensions of "leadership" do is make it look like a small bunch
of people with no life. It's a *big* bunch of people with no life.
