By spooky coincidence I was going to write a little rant entitled "When did
HP printers turn evil?" but decided that...what the hell...the office HP
Laserjet 2100M stopped printing postscript overnight. No errors, no
flashing LEDs, no nothing and especially no postscript pages. Poked,
pushed, pulled and generally abused the spooling software and operating
system. The banner sheet printed OK, but not the following postscript. This
fooled me into thinking that the printer itself was OK. Stupid me.
Eventually I power cycled the printer and lo! it now prints postscript. The
docs, of course, only admitted to the existance of operating systems from
some two bit company called Micro-Soft and were thus less than useful.
