Dell workstation series

Have been buying workstations for 10 or 15 years, and now it's time for
another one. The history is, starting with an old Gateway platform that
dual booted from SCSI or IDE... Dell 610, Dell 670, and now?

Looking at the 690, the 3500, and 5500. What is the progression?
where can I find a timeline for these products?
